Three mobile animal health units opened in N'rangpur

Three mobile animal health units were inaugurated in Jharigam, Umerkote and Righar blocks of Nabarangpur district by Agriculture Minister, Pradeep Maharathy, Science and Technology Minister Ramesh Chandra Majhi, and MP Pradeep Majhi.

Inaugurating the mobile animal health units, Minister Majhi said that the mobile health units would cover about three blocks in Nabarangpur districts, while other seven blocks will be covered soon by such units.

The State Government is firm on implementation of Vision 2020 for development of animal husbandry sector in the State. It aims at generating about five lakh manpower every year to ensure better socio-economic conditions of the farmers. From now, health camps for cattle will be conducted at every gram panchayat(GP) of the State, he added.

Hoping for self-sufficiency in cattle feed and dairy production, Majhi said the farmers would be able to reach the target of 10 lakh tonne milk production per annum and one lakh hectares of grassland for cattle feed in the next few years. Later the Ministers and MP inaugurated a chilling plant at Jhgarigam.
