OUJ district meeting held at Umerkote.



Nabarangpur:
District Odisha Union of Journalists meeting was held at Kalyana Mandap of Umerkote town here on Sunday.  District President Susant Kumar Behera, Working President Prasant Kumar Sahu, General Secretary Chitananda Sahu, Secretary Rama Nayak, Vice-presidents Barija Patnaik, Md Hussen, Saroj Patnaik, advisors Basant Rath, Siba Sankar Padhy, chairman Sashadhar Rout, Joint secretary Pramod Sahu, discussed  various issues of working journalists. 


It was decided to hold executive meeting at Chandahandi and Khatiguda in October and November. The Newly elected joint secretary Ram Kiran Patnaik, OUJ district Media cell convener Dilip Das, with near about forty journalists present at the meeting. Among others district OUJ legal advisor Manohar Mohanty,  Gopal Krushna Nayak, Laxmi Kant Panda, Ajit Kumar Nayak, Taraprasad Panigrahi, Sanjaya Kumar Padhy, Sanjeev kumar Takri, Ram krushna Nayak, Biswanath Chetty, Susant Nayak, Giridhar, Trinath Dharua, Krushna Chandra patnaik, Babuli Gouda, Suman Kumar Ghanto, Khageswar Mohankudo, Kabiraj Buni, Rasmi Ranjan Mohapotra, Rajesh Sabat, Rajesh Suna, the scribes were felicitated at the meeting.

Odisha Union of Journalist is the oldest and largest body of scribes of the state, affiliated to National Union  of Journalist (I), New Delhi, which is a member of international federation of journalists, Brussels(Brazil).

Doctor Manoj's "Miss Laal Tamator" Inaugurated at Nabarangpur.

Nabarangpur:

A book of collected poems titled “Miss Laal Tamator” was inaugurated on Tuesday at the conference hall of district headquarters hospital. The Author of the book, Doctor Manoj Kishor Nayak, noted the importance of writing poem and making available such books in a manner that attracts readers. The book which includes 138 poems is written in oriya language sheds light on social, national, community and individual affairs.


Dignitaries Commerce and Transport Minister Ramesh Chandra Majhi, and Chairman of district planning committee Manohar Randhari,  CDMO  Doctor Anup Kumar Ghose, Poet Susant Kumar Dash, Editor of Simanta, Ashok Patnaik, jointly launched  the book.  Odiya Sahitya academy member Booloo Hota presided over the function.  

The participants of the inauguration event underlined the need to create conducive atmosphere as regards transferring the art of writing poems to future generations. Every person of the district needs to give their contribution to make Nabarangpur rich. Among other ADMO Doctor Sobha Rani Mishra, with doctors and staffs, poets present at the meeting.

Kid branded in Nabarangpur village after Jyoti Campaign.



Nabarangpur: Yet another newborn was injured by branding of  his abdomen in Tentulikhunti block of Nabarangpur district  on Friday. The 45-day-old boy has been admitted in Nabarangpur district hospital. 

According to sources, Gitanjali Harijan and Junesh Harijan, from Khuntiaguda village of Tentulikhunti block, branded their child when the child developed some stomach and breathing problems, the parents approached a tribal traditional healer or ‘desari’, who branded his abdomen. When his condition deteriorated, he was brought to hospital.

This incident has come after the Jyoti campaign initiated by the district administration  where a village level awareness drive in all its 169 grampanchayats with 4,400 traditional healers, anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, Panchayatiraj functionaries and local youths were part of the awareness drive. Recently Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik awarded a cash prize of Rs. 15 Lakh to Nabarangpur Collector Rashmita Panda for district’s performance in fighting superstition.

District Journalist’s meets New SP of Nabarangpur.



Nabarangpur: 
The District body of the Odisha Union of Journalist’s meets new superintendent of police Sudhansu Sekhar Mishra, here on Thursday.  OUJ District President Susant Behera, along with the delegates discussed the various problems, including traffic mess of town. Senior Reporter Basant Rath, concerned over the various issues of the district. SP  Mr. Mishra,  assured to have friendly relation with the reporters and asked the reporters talk directly with every  issue. Among others Kishor Patnaik,  Saroj Patnaik, Phalguni Patra, Ajit Nayak, Jagannath Sahu, Siba Sankara Padhy, present at the meeting.

Nabarangpur OUJ District body Elected



Nabarangpur.
The Nabarangpur district unit of Odisha Union of Journalists (OUJ) new body declared today here at Ashribad Kalyana Mandap of town in which Senior Journalist Susant Behera, elected as President while Prasant Sahu, elected as  working president, general secretary Chitananda Sahu, working general vice president’s Saroj Patnaik, Barij Patnaik, Md. Hussan, Joint secretary, Ashwarya Takri, Ram Kiran Patnaik, Pramod Sahu, Treasure Kishor Patnaik, Legal Advisor Manohar Mohanty, elected for the new body. The earlier body was working for last six years inactive in this district. The state executive body took step to activate the new body and members drive. In the process Sashadhar Rout, was the state observer conducted the meeting and election.
