Muslim body protest March in Nabarangpur.



Nabarangpur:
Muslim community of Nabarangpur staged a demonstration condemn the cowardly terror attack of Pakistan in Uri of Jammu and Kashmir. Raising anti-Pakistan slogans out rally from Pathan Street to Sub-collector office submitted memorandum to Prime Minister, Chief Minister of Odisha, through the sub- collector in which they demanded stringent action against the Pakistan.


In the rally where about four hundred Muslim’s Pay homage to 18 soldiers of Indian Army who were brutally killed by terrorists, further they vehemently condemns Uri attack by Pakistan and direct support to terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. 

“We wanted to send a message that the Muslims in Nabarangpur are angry for the lives lost in terrorist attack.Pakistan should be taken to task. It has been aiding and abetting terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir,Sirajuddin Ahmed said".




 

Candle march to pay homage to martyrs at Nabarangpur.



Nabarangpur: 
A candle march was organized by District Bar association with local Journalist's to pay homage to 18 soldiers of Indian Army who were brutally killed by terrorists in Uri in Jammu and Kashmir. 


The march started from sub-collector's office to Gandhi chowk passed through National Highway-26. Near the Gandhi statue observed two-minute silence to pray for the bravehearts who sacrificed their lives in service of the nation. The delegates of Prajapita Brahma Kumaris, district Amala Sangha participated in the march.

Nabarangpur District BJD stage demo against Polavaram project.

The ruling BJD in Nabarangpur staged a demonstration protesting against the Polavaram project in Andhara Pradesh in front of the collectorate here on Tuesday. The party submitted a memorandum to the President of India through the Additional district Magistrate Laxmidhar Das.


Speaking on the occasion Commerce and Transport minister Ramesh Chandra Majhi, who is also the president of the district BJD said the Union Government’s support to Andhra Pradesh’s Polavaram project, if the project materialised in its present design several villages of Malkangiri district would be submerged and affect lakhs of people. The central government has accorded national status to the project and decided to bear all expenses which is against the intrest of Odisha, Majhi added.
 Nabarangpur MP Balabhadra Majhi said while the Polavaram case is currently sub-judice in the Supreme Court and SC has not yet directed to the Centre to provide funds for construction work of the project and the Centre would certainly respect observations of the court.   The rally and meeting led by Former Rajya Sabha Member Bhupendra Singh, while MLA’s Manohar Randhari, Subash Gond, ZP President, Vice-Chairperson, chairman’s of blocks, ZP and Samiti members with hundreds of party delegates present. Over 2000 party workers participated in the stir.

11 injured after bus overturns near Papadahandi.

At least eleven persons were injured after a passenger bus skidded and overturned near Jhitukuguda under Papadahandi police limit of Nabarangpur district on Tuesday morning.



According to reports, the accident took place when the bus was on the way to Umerkote from Bhubaneswar. The incident took place while the driver lost control over the steering  near an U-turn following which it turned turtle. The injured have been admitted to Padadahandi community health centre (CHC) and some of them were later shifted to Nabarangpur district headquarters hospital.While three persons were seriously injured sifted to Vishakhapatnam and Bhubaneswar. 

In the meanwhile State commerce and transport minister Ramesh Chandra Majhi, along with State Transport Authority member Pramod Padhy, visited Papadahandi CHC and meets the accident victims.
