Meet for Red Cross Day held at Nabarangpur

A preparatory meeting for World Red Cross Day was held here on Monday under the chairmanship of District Collector Sibabrata Dash.
Two Raths will be pressed into service for launching an awareness campaign. Besides, painting, debate and other competitions, patriotic songs, blood donation, patient facilitation and community mobilisations would be held.
A Red Cross donation box and block red cross cell at Nabarangpur and Umarkote will be inaugurated on May 8.
In 2011-12, maintenance of Pandit Deen Dayal Girls Orphanage, Majhiguda and Asha Kiran had been undertaken at `9,38,992, while 97 patients benefited in medical treatment and 220 patients had been referred to different referral hospitals.
It was decided that the Red Cross Society would strengthen and make voluntary blood donation movement sustainable with collaborative approach among the youth mass and encourage them to donate blood.
ADM Suradev Sahu, PDDRDA James Eka, Deputy Collector Nihar Ranjan Dash, BDOs, Tehsildars and many volunteers were present.
