Irked over
love proposal being rejected minor girl strangulated to death. Police booked two
youths on Friday for alleged murder of a minor girl in Gumandali village of
Kosagumuda. Earlier police have claimed that the post-mortem report of the
deceased which revealed that the girl was not raped but strangulated to death.
Reason behind the death of a minor girl in
Gumundali village in Kosagumuda police limits came to fore as SP Nitin Kusalkar
at a press meet told here today that the deceased was murdered by two youths
after she rejected marriage proposal and slapped Khadi
Bhatra.
Having felt humiliated
at the rejection the the two accused, Khadi Bhatra and Bali Majhi, hatched a
plan with Majhi and killed the girl by strangling her, the SP said.
A
16-year-old tribal girl, who had gone missing from home on December 13th night,
was allegedly found murdered after gang-rape in Gumundoli village in
Nabarangpur district. Villagers found her dead body on the outskirts of the
village in the morning of December 14th.
The
Nabarangpur district congress recently observed 12-hour bandh and demanded the
arrest of accused in the alleged rape and murder case.
Notably on
Sunday a team of district bar association members led by President Narashingo
Tripathy, meets the family members of the minor girl who was allegedly raped
and murdered. The association demanded to arrest the culprits and also plead
for the assistance for the victims’ family. Day after the visit of Bar
association the DIG (southern range) with a team of police officials visited
the victims’ native. He discussed with family of deceased and apprised them
about the investigation and post-mortem report.
