Nabarangpur:
The students of Nabarangpur college intensify strike demanded
the 45 years oldest semi-aided college to declare government institution. The
students boycotted classes took out a huge rally to main road blocked the NH-26
in front of the Maa Bhandara Gharani temple. Later to lodge their protest
staging silent sit-on dharana near MadhuSudan park.
The college was established in the year 1971 now the students strength is 3,900 in both junior college and degree. Our long-standing demand for government status to the oldest
college of district has fallen on deaf ears of the government the students
said.
The students union alleged that on repeated demands from
various quarters for Government College, the state government has not shown any
eagerness although the promise made by several ministers, MPs, and MLAs during
various college programmes, to provide government status to the institution has
become a farce said the student leaders.
