Diarrhoea caimed 3 lives in Jharigam.

Diarrhoea has claimed three lives and 13 affected in the Purla village under Jharigam block. The deceased has been identified as eight -year-old boy Phula Bhatra, Manindra Bhatra, 10, Manbodh Bhatra, 12.

Among the affected persons Sansai Bhatra, 10, Laxman Bhatra, 12, Asai Bhatra, 10, Mudi Bhatra,40, Padu Bhatra, 40, Gaibari Bhatra, 12, Sadu Bhatra, 38, Bhima Bhatra, 20, Subhundra Bhatra, 3, Sakuntla Bhatra, 2, and several other persons were admitted in the area hospital of Umerkote, On Tuesday morning the local Asha worker visited the village and tried to intimate the matter to the doctor of Jharigam CHC, but the doctor was not present, so he intimated to BDO, Jharigam. In the meanwhile pharmacist of the CHC was attended the patients and three died, and several referred to Umerkote hospital. The villagers alleged that due to the negligence of the doctor, and health officials the outbreak took place. At the evening a Mobile health vehicle, reached at the village.

CDMO, Jugal Kishor Behera, said that we are taking necessary pre-cautionary measures and the situation was now under control in the worst-affected village. Due to food poison the outbreak took place he added.In the meanwhile Collector, Sibabrata Dash, visited the affected village, discussed with villagers and health workers to take pre-cautionary measures.
