Nabarangpur bids adieu to martyr Pramod Naik

Nabarangpur: Rich tributes were paid to Assam Rifles Saheed Pramod Naik by the locals here on Tuesday. Naik was killed by People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of Manipur on Friday during the operation near Khamdong village in Ukhrul district border to the Myanmar. The body was carried out in a procession through the main road of the town followed by a motorcycle rally. It was later taken to his native village Ghatguda near Papadahandi and performed the last rite with full Guard of honour. District Collector Sibabrata Dash, SP Nitin Sekhar along with other district officials and eminent persons were present. Saheed Naik was about 28 and survived by his wife and a daughter.
