Nabarangpur College Union Function held.

The Nabarangpur College observed its annual function on Thursday, Gracing as chief guest, IT, Science and Technology, Minister Ramesh Chandra Majhi, said that education is fundamental right of the citizen, it is unfortunate that this year more 4000 students deprived from higher education. This year the college should submit reports to increase the seats before the high power committee, so that more seats will be allotted to this college. Though it is one of the oldest college of the district, yet to be Government College, The Journalists action Committee,of Nabarangpur district also submitted memorandum and concerned over the issue they will also talk with the Chief minister, Naveen Patnaik, he added. Mr.Majhi also suggested that the governing body meeting should be called and to take appropriate steps to increase seats, and other development of the college.
Municipal Chairman, Prahalad Tripathy, State Student BJD, President, Ranjeet Mohapatra, were present at the function as guest. They addressed a large gathering of students and lecturers, Mr.Mohapatra advised the students to be self confident while undertaking any task, while Mr.Tripathy highlighted the importance an alma mater in a persons life. College Principal, RK Patnaik, described the different development programmes of the college, while Dr.Bijaya Mishra, introduced the guests.
Winners of different competitions, held by the union earlier, were given away prizes. While union president Hari Sankar Sahu, presided over the meeting, Secretary, Papun Mishra, read over the reports of the student union. Plus Two Cultural secretary, also read over the reports. With other lecturers and employees contributed to the grand success of thefunction. Among others, dramatic association secretary, Literary secretary, were preset at the meeting. Students of the college enthralled the audience with song and music programmes.


Preparatory Meeting for republic day at Nabarangpur.

A preparatory meeting for observing district level Republic Day at Nabarangpur was held under the chairmanship of Shri. Dhruba Charana Panchbhya,PDDRDA, in the Zilla Parisad conference hall in the town on Wednesday. The meeting was carried with the regular features like mass parade by the students and police contingents, PET, cultural dances on patriotic songs display by school children and organizing different competitions among the students will be held, Mr.Panchbhay, urged the school heads to facilitate the students to exhibit innovative cultural shows in the ground so as to attract the attention of a greater audience. Friendly Cricket match will be played between Bar Association and Journalist Association. Among others, district level officials, Sub-Collector, Nanda Kishor Sethi, school teachers and police personnel attended the meeting. DIPRO, Bhujang Bhusan Rao, coordinated the meeting.
