Phupugam villagers In Minister’s Constituency yet to get Pattas.

Even after 25 years of the survey and settlement operations in the Phupugam village under Jharigam block the villagers yet to got pattas (record of rights) for their lands. The last survey and settlement was held year back on 4th Oct.1985 and during the settlement operation the authority demarcated lands. But after hearing objection petitions of the parties record of rights (ROR) with regard to the land was not issued to the villagers of Phupugam. Due to the lack of ownership rights on the lands which they had been cultivating for generations, they were not able to obtain any loan from the bankers or benefit like Indira Awas, farm pond, Mo Kudia, bore well, from the government schemes.
The Village which continues to be ploughed by poverty and backwardness, the fallout of worst kind of official apathy.

The villagers alleged that in spite of repeated requests to board of revenue, collector, and elected representatives they do not heed to it. Despite the fact that IT, Fisheries,ARD and SC/ST minister, Ramesh Chandra Majhi, represented from Jharigam constituency, and home area of MP and President OPYC, Pradeep Majhi, the villagers yet to get pattas. One of the villagers said that they have filled several grievance petitions before the Board of Revenue authority, about it and seeks clarification, it goes in vain.
