Minister’s Visited Nabarangpur to take stock of Post-rain situation.


State Panchayat Raj Minister Kalpataru Das and Minister of State for Food and Consumer Welfare Pratap Keshari Deo visited Nabarangpur district on Tuesday to review the damage caused by the incessant rain on June 12 to 14.
Before visiting agricultural fields, the minister held a review meeting with officials at the Circuit House conference hall, and assessed post rain situation.  Collector Yamini Sarangi, presented a preliminary report of on the damage caused by the flash floods and rain in the district.

Speaking to the media Minister Mr.Das said "We have asked the district administration to assess the damage attributed due to rains within seven days. The government will soon provide compensation to the affected farmers," Das told reporters.  He further directed the Collector to provide Indira Awas and Mo Kudia, to the families belongs to BPL category, who are the worst victim in the rain.  

Near about  250 houses of 59 gram panchayats, 56 KM roads, 38 bridges have been badly damaged in Nabarangpur, Though the administration has provided a preliminary report regarding the loss of properties, we have sought a detailed report so that decision could be taken at the government level for payment of compensation," said Das.  He further assured that within next few days all roads that were damaged would be repaired, and all persons who incurred losses would be provided compensation and assistance.

Minister Mr.Deb added that heavy rain damaged standing crop and paddy lying in the field after harvesting,  even sowing paddy also damaged he directed the agricultural officials to verify and provide an report for additional requirement of Paddy.
 Later before leaving for Kalahandi Minister Dev along with IT Minister Ramesh Chandra Majhi,  local MLA, Manohar Randhari, ZP President, Motiram Nayak, visited Beheraguda and interacted with the farmers regarding the loss of crops for the torrential rains.
