For the first time in the district three days Dakshina Odisha Sahatya Samblini, was held at Shastri Bhawan was concluded on Sunday. On the Inaugural day Rajya Sabha, MP, Mr. Baisnav Parida, was the chief guest inaugurated the samilani. Commissioner, for persons with disability, Odisha, Ms. Kasturi Mohapatra, Mr.Bhupandra Mohapatra, were the guest of honour, while Psychologist, of Utkal University, Dr. Pratap Rath was Chief Speaker. In the second day of the function, Mayadhar Nayak, was the chief guest, while in the concluding day, Ms.Ritupurna Mohanty, was chief guest said that there is a need of a fifth pillar to protect democracy.

The three pillars of democracy, namely, the legislature, executive and judiciary may be rightly balanced by the fourth pillar which is the media that acts as a watchdog in the functioning of a democracy. Due to neglect by elite, Corruption, Violence, bloodshed, chaos, rape, murder, molestation, child abuse, women torture, in the society another pillar is crucial that is social workers, including common man.

She requested every one it’s time stood up to face the truth, became more aware of what’s happening around us and acted upon it. Raise voices when our brethren are harmed.
