PNS | Nabarangpur
The Congress will strengthen its youth wing, Indian Youth Congress (IYC), for ensuring a better performance in the next general elections. At the same time, it also wants that the functionaries of the youth outfit are duly elected through democratic process, said the zonal coordinator for Parliament constituencies of southern region Wasim Sagar Azmi.

In the first phase, the IYC will hold an awareness drive to make youths below 35 years aware that why they should join the outfit. The second phase would be the membership drive. Out of the grass root members, five delegates would be elected for each booth who on the latter stage would elect president for the district and State, Azmi said while talking to the mediapersons here.

Since youth are the vital components, the party is going to give importance to them . Rahul Gandhi has also directed to work in similar lines, Azmi, said.

He informed that organisational elections would be held from the booth to State-level which would include booth committee (five members), Assembly committee (10 members), and Lok Sabha committee (10 members). In Nabarangpur Loksabha constituencies, 1064 booth committee will be formed .

“Two years ago, the process of internal organisational election was taken up as a pilot project and till date the organisational elections have been conducted in more than 20 States and lakhs of youths joined Youth Congress,” said Nabarangpur, Loksabha coordinator Khalid Pathan.
